Growing up, my family and I have always loved watching movies. From action packed thrill seekers to romantic comedies, we've seen a good majority of them. All of my life, I have always been a fan of Jurassic Park, super hero movies, Pirates of the Caribbean and Star Wars. Recently, Jurassic World came out. This movie was released 22 years after Jurassic Park III. That's a huge deal. I've been geeking out for this movie as soon as I heard about it.
Another thing that I am definitely obsessed with are Marvel movies. Every time I watch a Marvel movie, I get about as giddy as a kid in a candy store. My face lights up and I jump up and down. If you think I'm kidding, I can promise you that I am not. (I really don't have that much of a life). Anyone can agree that these movies are pure greatness.

One thing that has always annoyed me is the fact that everyone who proudly announces their love for these movies are thought of as "nerds." Because I am a sorority girl many people think of me as the stereotypical sorority girl. Only watching Sex and The City, drinking wine and doing things that are of no importance at all. Don't get me wrong, I love SATC and wine (around my mom, of course, because I can legally drink within six feet of being by her), but I also thoroughly enjoy watching all of the Marvel movies, too. The stereotype that simply because I'm a girl I would probably rather watch the Kardashians than an action-packed movie is insulting. I really could care less about the fact that Kim is trying to get pregnant or that Kylie's lips weren't real. What I do care about is how they are going to make the next Avengers movie. The Avengers may not be real, but that's still better to watch than feeling like my IQ is dropping while watching reality TV.
To every girl out there who is hiding the part of them that loves geek movies, don't be afraid to show your true colors. Live long and prosper.
