I have not experienced your life.

We live in a society full of harsh norms and unrealistic standards. These ridiculous ideas lead to people thinking that they and everybody else should follow some imaginary guidelines. I do not believe that there is a mold to fit and I will never expect you to be a certain way.

I have not lived your life.

I have not lived in your family.

I have not had your parents, siblings, or pets.

I have not had your friends.

I have not had all your role models.

I have not taken all your classes.

I have not had the injuries you have had.

I am not in your financial situation.

I do not look the way you do.

I do not wear your clothes.

I do not have your genetics.

I have not felt your emotions.

I have not felt your happiness when you achieve your goals.

I have not felt the pain you suffer from when you are hurt.

I have not gone through your process of grieving during times of loss.

I have not felt the rage within you when you are upset.

More than all of these experiences I have not gone through because I am not you, I have not experienced the causes and events leading up to all of these.

I will never know your story.

I will never be you.

And for that...

I will not judge you.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
