Disclaimer: The cover photo for this picture is four years old from my junior prom and my mother and I look nothing like that as we both have blonde highlighted hair now.
They always say mothers are a girl's first best friend and that could never be more true. They are our first teachers, shoulder to cry on, and so much more. As I am now in my college years, I have become more independent. Yet, I always end up texting my mom when I'm sick, when I did well on an exam, or to let her know when I'm coming home. Mothers are someone that will always be there for their daughters and we can't thank them enough for it.
I played softball my entire life and was a pitcher. My mom made the effort to attend every one of my games whether it was home or away. And I'm sure those of you that are reading this mothers did the same thing. She and my dad were my number one fans and I could always hear them cheering for me from the stands.
For years, I have done community service and I can thank my mother as being the one who got me into it. She has such a kind heart and continues to do so many things for the community. My mother is an incredibly hard worker and is quite crafty. All of my friends know that she creates cute things and are always interested in seeing what she thinks of next.
My mom and I are known for staying in on weekends and watching movies. We are always searching the TV, Netflix, or Amazon video for something to watch. The funniest part is when we are watching something and my mom starts to laugh really hard and can't stop laughing which makes me non-stop laugh. Little moments like these are what I will remember as well as the simple gestures she does for me.
There will be numerous times my mother will give me money with out me asking for it. It is typically for me to get my nails done or she will pay for me and a friend to go and grab lunch. Even though I decline the money she tells me to "just take it" because it is "her treat". Even though it's not necessary, she still does it.
My mother will do anything for anyone and is one of the kindest ladies I know. So here's to you and mothers everywhere that put their daughters first. We appreciate all that you do for us.
