Y'know I never thought I'd say this, but looking back, I miss high school. And I don't mean that in the "Oh PLEASE take me back" kind of way, god please don't take me back. But in all honesty, when I compare my college life to now, there are definitely certain aspects of high school that I do miss.
1. Easy classes
I was never the 4.0 student, but I definitely did not work half as hard as I do in college. I mean, when there's a test I could easily get away with studying the night before, but now I find myself studying as far as two weeks in advance. There's also the fact that I work five times as hard in college for about half my GPA in high school.
2. Football
Going to Marquette doesn't really help my football cravings.
3. Comfortability
Being in high school, you were always protected by this bubble because you knew everyone and everyone had their place. Whereas in college, you're pushed to go outside your bubble, which is totally okay, but sometimes I definitely miss knowing where I am.
4. Being close to family and friends.
Well, you obviously (and hopefully) have friends in college, but there's something about coming home to your family and being close to the friends in your community that warms the heart, especially coming back during the semester break.
5. Driving to school
I've gotten so lazy this semester I hate walking, especially in the Midwestern cold. I wish I could just drive right into my lecture hall and tune into the radio station with my professor's lecture on it.
6. Field trips
Sure there's study abroad, but when was the last time you got to miss a whole day of classes to do something semi-related to a class?
While you definitely don't want to ever go back to high school, you have to admit, there are some things about it that you gotta miss.
