On a college campus, there are so many opportunities to make the best of your overall experience. Going to class every day and keeping up with school work can be stressful and it is nice to have something else to be excited about and look forward to other than school.
One of the things I was most surprised about coming into college was how many clubs and activities are offered. I realized very quickly how a club can open up your experiences and create many amazing relationships.
For two years I have been a part of an A capella group on campus. I was involved with a group in high school as well and loved it, but I never thought I would continue or find a group when I got to college.
Honestly, as much as I love singing, I thought that college acapella was a little cheesy. I heard about auditions my freshman year and it took me forever to decide what to do. I was a little scared and confused but decided to just go for it and see what happens.
Long story short, I got put into an amazing group of incredibly talented students. I just cannot imagine my college experience without joining this group. I have met some of my closest friends and they have become a huge part of my life. It is so exciting to be able to sing and laugh and hang out with people who are all so different yet have one thing in common. Joining this club has opened me up to so much and has allowed me to get out of my comfort zone.
College can be crazy and overwhelming but there are so many things that can bring positivity and creativity. I am forever thankful that I found something that does that for me.
