I am sure you all know what a planner is. It was that little book you got in elementary, middle, high school and college when it was just a calendar with lines for assignment due dates. But when college hits, there are planners that are better than the ones you got when you were younger. Why? Because now, you can customize them and decorate them! Yes, I am one of those planner addicts. This planner not only helps me keep track of my school assignments for college, but it also keeps track of my life.

Yes. I am a planner addict, but that is not a bad thing. My planner is an Erin Condren Life Planner. This is my second planner from Erin Condren, and I love it to death; my mom got me hooked on planning. Plus, now, I carry my planner everywhere with me. And I mean everywhere.

OK, let's get down to the fine print on why it's good to be a planner wiz.

First off, you get a layout of your day. My planner has an hourly layout, so that means I can block out my work schedule so that I know where I work around it for other things I want to put in my planner. I will be able to insert my school schedule into it as well once school starts later in September.

Secondly, if you love being creative, you need a planner. There are TONS of stickers and washi tape that you can use to decorate your planner with. I have a box from Michael's that is filled to the brim with stickers, and then I have another box of just washi tape. All my planner stickers and washi tape come from Etsy; I shop mainly with Bottled Tea Designs because she has amazing sticker sets and can custom-make stickers for you.

Thirdly, it kind of makes you feel more like an adult. You can finally put your plans in your planner so that you don't forget. You put bill due dates, vet payments, appointments, anniversaries, holidays, trip dates, and meeting dates in it, too. I put everything in my planner whether it is related to me, school, work, and my dog. Yes, my dog's needs are included in my planner.

Fourthly, you can make it your own. What I mean is that you can customize your planner covers. Mine are currently a layout of pictures of my dog, because I pretty much just want to look at her all the time. I miss her when I am not with her. You can choose your layout. You can have an hourly layout, a block layout, or just a normal daily layout. It is your planner, so you can make it to be whatever you want it to be.

I hope you have been inspired to get an planner and decorate the hell out of it, but also find that it can be a huge life saver, especially if you forget about plans you make. Go Erin Condren Life Planner!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
