Before I sit here and complain about what I don't like about my gender, just know I'd take this body over a boy's any day!

1. Nails chipping the day after you paint them:

AKA, the most annoying thing ever! This drives me nuts because I love for my nails to look nice, and I spend time painting them myself versus paying a random person to do it for me.

2. Always expected to look flawless:

Excuse me, but I am about to enter my third year of college. I'm not sure which bags are bigger, the ones under my eyes or the ones hanging off of my clothes. If I want to wear baggy sweats and a guy-sized sweatshirt to class, I will.

3. Makeup:

Nobody's business if I wear it, and nobody's business if I don't. Guys, you can stop saying we wear it to impress you — you're just pissed because you can't cover your blemishes/ugliness.

4. Always judged ... for everything!:

Girls can be pretty cruel in this department. But guys don't have a filter on their mouths, either. Sometimes it's just better to keep things in the privacy of your own mind.

5. Self-conscious shopping:

Recently, I noticed that the media has been surfacing American Eagle's size change in clothing, specifically shorts. A girl wrote a review online saying that her size 4 shorts from one year ago, are now considered a size 10. Wow, that explains right there why most girls feel the way they do.

6. Periods:

One week a month of hell. Literally hell, burning inside of your uterus. At least that's how I describe it.

7. Feelings/Hormones:

Here, have some of them. Because my body is overpopulated with them!

8. Drama:

One day cannot go by without hearing "did you hear..." (insert whatever pointless sh*t is being said).

9. Stress/Anxiety:

I know everyone experiences this, but I feel like females, especially in my age range, really suffer from it. Not to mention all of our worrying causes us to break out a ridiculous amount. K COOL.

10. Relationships:

Do I want one? Yeah. Does anyone else? Probably not. I'm in college, those don't exist there. #hookupseverywhere

11. Catching the feels for a guy friend:

Well sh*t ... that wasn't supposed to happen. Now to enjoy awkward encounters.

12. Being taken seriously:

This is just a general statement. If I say I want to do something amazing one day that requires a lot of knowledge, effort and skills, then I will! Shut up, I will do it.

13. Shaving:

Sadly, it's currently summer so this is a must-do everyday kind of thing. Counting down the days for No-Shave-November.

Although these obstacles are often annoying, I love being a girl. After all, Beyoncé says we run the world.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
