Why I'm A Daddy's Girl

Dads are just about the greatest things in the world. They love unconditionally, protect and provide for their families, and are great support systems. My dad is no exception. I've always been a daddy's girl and here's why.

He Spoils Me Rotten

So maybe I was a little spoiled growing up. I could get almost anything I wanted with a “please” and a puppy dog face. He would take me out for lunch, change my oil, or even pay the extra couple dollars at the car wash so we could get the colorful bubbles. To this day, my dad still treats me like a princess and has taught me that I deserve nothing less.

He Pushes Me to Be the Best I Can Be

My dad has always encouraged me to do great things. He never got angry when I failed; he only taught me to get up and try again. He’s one of the most patient human beings I know and helped me get through those moments where I thought about giving up. Now, he stands by my side and watches me become my biggest dreams.

He Takes Care of Me

Leave it to my dad to provide everything I need to take on the world. He checks up on me on the daily and makes me a number one priority. Anything I need, anytime I need it, I know my dad is just one phone call away.

He Always Makes Me Feel Like the Most Beautiful Girl in the World

He always tells me I’m beautiful and never lets me forget what a lovely young woman his little girl has grown into. No matter what I’m wearing or how little sleep I got, he’ll still put his arm around me with a beaming smile and remind me that I’m beautiful no matter what.

I Always Feel Safe

He kills all the spiders, texts to make sure I’m OK during a storm, and has a safe full of guns he knows how to use just in case. In any dangerous situation, he rises to the challenge and meets it with courage and strength.

He Fixes Everything

When it comes to broken things, my dad somehow always knows the solution to fixing it. From a flat tire to a bad day, he always knows how to make it better.

He’s Always Going to Be There For Me

My dad is always one room, one text, or one gator ride away. He’s been by my side my entire life and watched me grow and mature into the person I am today. I know he’ll be there in the future, no matter what decisions I make.

He’s the First Man I Ever Loved

I don’t need a boyfriend to figure out what love feels like. My dad has shown me from day one what it means to care for someone with your whole heart, put their needs above your own, remain calm in arguments, and always find the happiness in every situation. He’s equipped me with a heart that’s complete on its own, and will only accept a partner who compliments it just right.

I Know He Will Do Anything For Me

I’m convinced that my dad truly is Superman. He can take on any challenge and come out on top. He rescues me, makes me laugh, and saves the day. His number one mission is to keep me happy and healthy...and he’ll stop at nothing to make it happen.

Daddy I love you so much.

Love,

Your favorite daughter

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
