Why I Love Writing ForĀ  Odyssey

I have been a part of the Odyssey Community only since August when I began college at Mississippi State University. Let me tell you I love being a part of this organizations and it is because of my love for writing.

Writing has been something I have always enjoyed, but I never wrote consistently. Before joining Odyssey, writing was just a hobby. While it was a hobby I very much enjoyed, I typically only wrote when not involved with dance, which was mid June through late July.

You see I was heavily involved with dance. In fact, it was the largest aspect of my life for a numerous fourteen years. After much contemplation, I chose to not pursue dance in college, it will always be something I am forever thankful for; however, it no longer fills my day to day routine.

No longer being involved in dance, made me turn again to writing. I've always loved to write ever since I can remember. I used to write stories, often about stuff I wished to experience. I liked writing cards rather than purchasing one from the store to give to friends and family.

As I got older and writing became a part of school assignments, I could easily sit at the computer for a short amount of time to produce work that was surprisingly quite good. People often did not believe that I took little time to write something so good, but I did and enjoyed being able to do so.

Writing allows me to talk about what I feel matters as well as reflect on past experiences. Before joining Odyssey, what I wrote was frequently only ever seen by myself. I am thankful to now be a part of something where I have a platform to have my voice heard on as well as to see what others on my own campus enjoy writing about. I am also thankful to now write more consistently. Since doing so, I now love writing even more and seeing how I have grown with more time put into it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
