Being a big sister is one of my favorite roles in the world. My little sister, Emily, is two years (almost to the day) younger than me yet I constantly feel like she is my twin.
When we were little, we would argue and bicker constantly. Everyone would always tell me, "Oh when you get older, the two of you will be best friends". I would always roll my eyes. The statement seemed impossible. Yes, I loved Emily because she was my sister, but we were just so different.
Well fast forward to 2019. All of those people who I once rolled my eyes at, proved to be right. Emily and I are so close-knit now. I tell her almost everything about my life. We work the same summer job together. We stay up late at night laughing about old jokes. We make fun of our parents together. I even brought her to my senior prom when my ex-boyfriend hurt his back and couldn't make it! You name it, we bond over it. She is single-handedly the person I miss most when I am away from home!

Like I said before, being so different used to be something I looked at as a weakness in our relationship. I felt like we couldn't ever relate to things. But as we have gotten older, I think that has been the key to our relationship.
My sister is the funniest person that I know. She can always crack some sort of joke during the perfect time that just makes me want to keel over laughing. She is always so "go with the flow" which balances out my at times uptight self. She is so humble. My sister is cover of Vogue Magazine beautiful but she is so down to earth that it makes me so jealous.
Having an obligatory sidekick in life is one of my favorite blessings in life. I always wondered what it would be like to have a brother but I wouldn't trade having a sister for the world.
I don't know what I would do without my little sister! I love you, Emily!!
