Why I Finally Gave Up On A Friend
The Mix

People come into your life and either turn out to be a blessing or a lesson. Once upon a time, you were a blessing. You were the best friend that I had ever had. You taught me what it was like to be loud and classy. You taught me what it was like to stay at a friend’s house, and because of you, I fell in love with animals and Taylor Swift.

I developed my personality because of you.. but I also developed into someone that my family didn’t like. I snapped at my parent’s and thought they could do better. For sure, I wasn’t getting what I deserved and I knew that the Earth owed me so much more. Eventually, I argued with my mother every day and one afternoon it took my dad to point out that I became the person that I never wanted to be. I became you.

Our friendship tarnished and you started to ignore me in my time of need. We were both going through so much and no matter how much I tried, I got pushed away. I eventually stopped being beside you 24/7 with hopes that it would do us better. And yet.. it didn’t. I reached out to you numerous times... And I was ignored. You bit back on me on social media, and I stood up for myself. Of course, you stayed the same, and true to your colors, kept attacking my name. Once again, I stood up for myself and my family and was pushed down.

I guess one day I will be thankful for knowing you. I will be thankful for all that you taught me and all that I have learned. But, today isn’t that day. Today is the day where I sit here and wonder what lesson you are going to teach me. No matter what the lesson I know that it is going to be a lesson that I take with me for my whole life.

All of this heartache will leave me with some gains in life and a new appreciation for the people that I have. I now have the best friends that a girl could have. They support me, they listen to me, and love me, and most of all, they confide in me

No matter how much you have done me wrong, I still wish you the best of luck in life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
