Coming out of a warm, relaxing summer and being thrown right back into school or work is always a hard thing to do. But it helps when you live in a part of the country that gets to experience ~the fall~. The chilly days that stretch from late September to the first snowfall of winter are by far some of my favorites of the year. Like I said, fall is the only season that matters, and here's why:
The Weather
I hate being hot. By the time October rolls around, I'm more than ready for my jean jacket and a cute pair of boots. Fall is the ideal combination of chilly mornings and crisp nights perfect for fires under the falling leaves.
Halloween!! (Duh)
I know it's hard to compete with Christmas, but Halloween really is my favorite holiday. What's not to love about having an excuse to dress up as whoever you want and eat an unspeakable amount of candy?
The aesthetic
Fall is the prettiest season, especially where I live in the Northeast. The green leaves turn beautiful shades of red and orange and float down from the branches to cover the streets. The perfect combination of pretty and spooky.
The Activities
The only thing better than going pumpkin picking or apple picking? Going pumpkin and apple picking then using your freshly picked fall produce to make all the yummy fall food that comes along with that. I hope your fall is full of pumpkin pie, apple cider, and those cinnamon scented pine cones they have at the grocery store. I also hope to one day be as happy as this monkey rolling around in a nice pile of autumn leaves.
