Fall is one of my absolute FAVORITE times of the year. It holds all of the good holidays and good memories for me growing up. Here are just a few reasons why fall is ACTUALLY the best season ever:

1) Pumpkin spice EVERYTHING.

I don’t care how many haters there are towards it all and towards the stigma that surrounds it. I JUST LOVE PUMPKIN SPICE THINGS. And everyone has at least one guilty pleasure with it, from Oreos to the drink itself at Starbucks.

2) The weather turning colder.

Everything seems more lively with the crisp air and the crunchy, colorful leaves on the ground. You can go outside without sweating to death and not freeze your butt off as well. It’s the perfect in-between.

3) Along with the colder weather comes sweater season.

And who doesn’t love sweater paws and cozying up in an oversize sweater? Fall fashion just screams trendy and cute and there’s honestly so many different ways to go about it. You can wear jeans with some knee high boots and a cardigan or a skirt with tights. There’s really no way you can go wrong here.

4) WARM DRINKS.

Again, something for everyone here. Apple cider, tea, hot chocolate, coffee, and the like all become do much more appetizing and delicious when the leaves start to fall, the air gets colder, and the nights become full of cheer (trust me, people change when fall comes around. I can’t tell you many times I’ve heard ‘FALL IS HERE’ screamed on campus already).

5) Gathering around the fire

The warmth spread through bonfires held outside late at night, by the hearth inside the comfort of your own home, or from the microwave heating up your pumpkin spice pop tart (we do what we can here in college okay). Gathering around a fire in the fall is a classic activity that pretty much everyone participates in. S’mores, scary ghost stories, and campfire songs are shared all around and it’s a guaranteed good time for everyone.

6) We can’t forget to mention all of the food and the baking that goes on during the fall time.

Fall is the just the beginning to the feast that is Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas dinner. Stuffing, pumpkin pie, turkey, and grandma’s best desserts are just a few of the things you can look forward to when fall comes around. You haven’t lived until you’ve taken one of the best naps of your life after all three of the courses of the best Thanksgiving meal you’ve ever eaten. That, my friend, is truly living.

7) Last but not least, fall activities.

Going to the pumpkin patch, picking out the biggest, best pumpkin there is there, and going home and carving it into the most epic of creations (Aye Pinterest where you at). Mine always end up in the Disney realm of things from Tinker Bell to the ever-so-classic Jack Skellington. And not only is there pumpkin carving but there is hay rides, hay mazes, and all kinds of other fun fall related activities.

So yeah, you could say fall is pretty great. It is at least in my opinion, and these reasons stand to be valid with most of the world’s population. So enjoy fall this year and all that it has to offer, and try at least ONE pumpkin spice item for me. You won’t regret it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
