As the Florida summer heat comes along, it is becoming more important to stay hydrated. With most of the incoming hot days reaching up to 80 degrees and higher, drinking water is a must (for many reasons). When I was younger, I was never a big fan of drinking water, but as I've gotten older, I've realized the importance of drinking water.
If you're like me, the plain taste of water sometimes makes it hard to drink it. Something that I do to make water taste better is to put lemon in water. This makes it a little more refreshing and adds a natural flavor.
Below are the seven reasons as to why you should take drinking water seriously.
Water regulates your body temperature.
Sweat is your body's natural way to cool itself down. Water is needed in order to replace the water that your body has released through sweat.
Water reduces the chance of a hangover.
Alcohol can cause dehydration, so I'm sure this one is self explainable. If you know, you know.
Water helps with weight-loss.
Sometimes when you feel hungry, you may just be thirsty and once you feel thirsty, it's your body's way of telling you that you are dehydrated. By drinking water, you help yourself determine if you really are hungry or not. This keeps you from possibly overeating.
Water flushes out toxins.
Drinking a lot of water will lead to having to urinate often and sweat more, therefore flushing out any toxins that are hanging around in your system.
Water helps keep your skin soft and glowing.
Your body is made up of roughly 60% water so it makes sense that by drinking water your skin will be glowing and look youthful. Drinking water will decrease dryness and wrinkles.
Drinking water prevents kidney damage.
Water is a great way to help flush out possible kidney stones or prevent them from appearing in the first place.
Drinking water prevents headaches.
Having a headache is more than likely a sign that you may be dehydrated.
