Why Dogs Trump Diamonds As A Girls' Best Friend

I’m sure we are all familiar with the saying “whoever said diamonds are a girls’ best friend, never owned a dog.” Now coming from a crazy dog lover who is also a girl, I will tell you that this could not be more true. Now, don’t get me wrong, us ladies can all agree that we do like our fair share of pretty, shiny jewelry, and we will most certainly never turn down a nice diamond. But, they are definitely not a girls’ best friend. For those of you ladies out there who love their fluffy friends, I’m sure you will all be able to agree with these 10 reasons as to why dogs trump diamonds as a girls’ best friend.

1.You can’t cuddle a diamond.

While they’re very pretty to look at, so are dogs. And to make things even better you can snuggle up on them after a hard day.

2. They have fluffy shoulders to cry on.

Whether your jerk of a boyfriend breaks up with you over the phone or you're just not having the best day, your dog can always sense when there is something wrong. They are always there to offer a shoulder for you to cry on, and maybe even give you some kisses too!

3. They always listen.

This may be because of the fact that they don’t have a choice but to listen to you ramble on about the most current drama in your life, but they always will be there. I mean, where else is there for them to go?

4. You can be yourself around them.

If you’re like me, you sing and dance like a weirdo around the house when no one is home while you’re dog stares at you probably thinking “what they heck is my human doing?” But, it doesn’t even matter because dogs will never judge you!

5. They're protective of you.

Whether you’ve got a tiny or large dog, if they sense you’re in danger or disapprove of the boy you're currently dating, they will most definitely be there to protect you.

6. They know all your secrets.

Good thing they can’t talk, because they would have a lot of blackmail on you. They see and hear everything and could easily embarrass you with so many things.

7. You can be doing nothing and still have a good time with them.

Sometimes it’s nice on your day off to just relax around the house, maybe pop on a movie, cuddle with your dog and have some silence for a little while.

8. They always want to hang out with you.

Because when all your friends bail, you can still hang out with your dog.

9. No one gets more excited to see you than your dog.

After having a rough day, it's always nice to come home and have someone so excited to see you. The best thing about dogs is that they are almost never in a bad mood and always know how to automatically cheer you up.

10. They love you no matter what.

When you have a dog, you form a special bond with them that is unlike any other relationship you have. No matter what happens, they will always be there for you and will love you unconditionally.

So there you have it ladies! Forget diamonds, I'd much rather have a dog.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
