From Louis C.K. to commonly shared Facebook posts, I've seen numerous times a comparison of Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler was the notorious Fuhrer of Germany in the 1930s who used his charisma and strong support base to abuse his powers and facilitate the start of the world's largest genocide - the Holocaust. To compare someone to Adolf Hitler is to deem them a murderer - a soulless human whose only goal is to obtain power through forcing another person or persons to take the blame for their falsified actions. Normally, I would think this comparison to be rather rash, impractical and in most cases, completely and unjustifiably unfair, but not in the case of Trump.
Trump's ideals are based upon a platform of hatred towards the growing Muslim population in the United States. He wants to promote the idea of ridding our immediate world of the Nation of Islam through governmental force. A tactic eerily similar to Hitler's in Nazi Germany. Both Hitler and Trump's goals were to make their respective countries "great again," as Trump's slogan reads. Both leaders gained their following because of a recognized need for change. They saw an opportunity to slither into their positions of power through attacking the vulnerabilities of their countries.
One may argue that Hitler used fear to rise to power. However, if you review the timeline of his regime you'll find that the Weimar Republic was, in fact, a democratic government. It was not until Hitler became the German Fuhrer that his true self and hatred for the Jewish religion came to light. Unlike Hitler, Trump began his rise to power by creating a scapegoat out of the Muslim people. So there's no blindness to Trump's plans or the demons he releases with every speech that he writes or every rally that he revels in.
The significance of this knowledge is the time our country has been given to rid ourselves of his voice and ability to create change for the worse within our realm. It's up to our nation to be able to recognize the difference between the constitution of change for the better of the nation, versus change for the power of the individual. Trump will ruin our country - foreign relations, internal affairs, you name it. So through this article, I implore readers to seek wisdom in other candidates. I know it's difficult. Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are not ideal choices - but they're sure as hell not Hitler.
