Many times I have been commended for my upfront honesty, and other times I have been made out to be the bad guy for it. Whether someone is asking "does my outfit look good" or "should I get back with my ex?", I always give them my god's honest opinion.
The truth will never stop being the truth, so there's no sense in hiding from it. There are many benefits to being a straight shooter and letting your opinion fly that the strong-minded wish you would know.
For one, we wish you would just stop lying. Seriously. Not only is it immoral, but it's stupid. One lie always leads to the next, and before you know it, you're caught in a tangled mess. To avoid the stress and guilt of carrying a lie, here's an idea: don't! The best way to avoid a Freudian slip is to have a free conscience.
We also wish you would grow up. Really. Not everything is a personal attack, and the world is not out to get you. You are fallible, and people are going to call you out sometimes. Recognize your behavior, take ownership and move on. It's the only way to grow as a person.
Stop the shenanigans! I don't have time for them. It is painstakingly obvious when you are being fraudulent. It is easy to see your true intentions, and you should try dropping the act. I see through it, every time.
Be real! I cannot stress this enough. Everyone wants to claim that they're "real" until it comes time for a face-to-face confrontation, and then they cower. Grow a spine. (I can even lend you mine for a day.)
It's going to be OK, I promise you. Life goes on and everything gets resolved in time. The longer you spend harboring emotions and holding things in, the worse you will feel. Be up front. Get it off your chest, exhale and breathe. You're gonna get through this.
As much as you want to point the finger at people like me and deflect your anger, you're only angry with yourself. I will never regret telling it like it is or calling a spade a spade, but go ahead and call me an asshole for it.
Sometimes it takes another pair of eyes for you to truly see yourself, and sometimes you should be open to criticism.
