First of all, this isn't in reference to anything. This isn't intended to hurt anyone. This is just something that I've discovered and something that has genuinely innocent intent.

Sure, it's fun to have a boyfriend. They buy you Starbucks whenever you want! So if you have a boyfriend, I envy you for that reason and that reason only. But if you don't have a boyfriend, don't worry, I think we singles are at an advantage and here's why:

Our 20's are a crucial age. We are supposed to be figuring out the rest of our lives! But often times, we don't even know ourselves, especially when we are with somebody else. Being single allows you to find yourself. We can finally be ourselves and therefore find ourselves! Without any distractions, we can sit back, reflect, and truly discover who we are and what we want in life. Which, currently, is nota boyfriend.

Next, and very importantly, being single helps you focus on your career. How can we focus on our futures when we are spending all our time being lovey-dovey? Ew. When you have no one to worry about, you can channel all your energy into studying and planning out a career path which will eventually lead to you being a bad ass that makes more money than your ex-boyfriend. Single girls get shit done.

Third, you find your best friends when you are single. Nobody likes a girl who spends 100 percent of their time with a boyfriend. And through it all, who is going to be there for you? Let me assure you, it will not be your (ex) boyfriend. Get out there and make some really cool friends. I can guarantee you won't regret it.

Similarly, when you are single you can dance with whoever you want. And heck, you can kiss whoever you want. I know this comes off as "hoe-ish" or whatever, but I don't mean it that way. I just mean that you are a 20-something, you don't need to be in love. You have the rest of your life to settle down. Go play the field, get your roster numbers up, and have fun in the clubs. Don't get tied down yet!

Finally, and most importantly, have the time of your life without a boyfriend. No one can judge you, tell you their opinion, or stop you from doing anything. You are literally free to do whatever you want with your amazing friends.

In summary, you are only in your 20's for a little bit. Please don't waste them on a boy.
