“Treat others how you want to be treated.” This simple concept has been taught to most of us from a very young age, and at first it seemed easy enough to live by. However, recently, it seems as though having a decent amount, if any, respect for one another is impossible for some people. They seem to have forgotten how important it is to be nice to each other. Here’s why it matters.
Society has come a long way, and more and more people are starting to express themselves in new ways. Some individuals are accepting of these differences, but, unfortunately, others find themselves unable to be tolerant towards anything different from themselves. It’s a big world. People are going to have different genders, ages, races, religious views, sexual orientations, and just different opinions in general. Without getting along, there will be no progress for humanity.
Most of the reason for hate is due to lack of acceptance. People preach about having peace and no war, but most of them are the same ones who do not accept others for their differences. If humanity is trying to diminish war, peace is essential. And for us to have peace, we have to be accepting of one another. Is there really any point in disrespecting others? It’s not going to solve anything.
We don’t all necessarily have to love one another, but the least we can do is try to get along. Being nice to one another is crucial, and we must remember to do so.
