I was shocked to hear about the passing of Mac Miller, a rapper who was has been rising in the industry of music; may he rest in peace. But I was also shocked to see that people were attacking Ariana Grande on social media, blaming her for Miller's death.

No one knows what went on between the two during their relationship and even after the relationship except reading what they see in the news. Who knows if Miller was heartbroken after the two split. Who knows how his emotional state was after he found out Ariana was engaged one month after their breakup? But this information and split between them happened months before Miller's death, and it was Miller's choice to use the drugs.

Although this is tragic, we cannot blame Ariana for what happened simply because we were not inside Miller's head. If Miller's death occurred one year after their break up, would Grande still be blamed for his death? Truthfully, I believe society would blame her out of pure lack of information.

We really don't know what went on in Miller's head that day and what he felt from his breakup with Grande. What we should be doing though is figuring out a way to stop the tragic loss of people from overdosing on drugs. Why is it that individuals are using these drugs and how can we stop the addiction?

Well, we lost another talent and all we did was put blame on another human. We need to figure out the drug problem in society and grieve for Miller's loss.
