To be honest, this was a rhetorical question.
If you keep up with everything that goes on in the NBA, then you would understand as to why I'm naming the New Orleans Pelicans as the winner of the NBA trade deadline.
For those of you don't, let me break it down for you:
DeMarcus Cousins has played for the Sacramento Kings since 2010, the year he was drafted. Despite the minor success with the Kings, Cousins never hesitated to call it his home; continuously giving back to the community, both on and off the court.
Yeah sure, he had a bit of a problem on the court. 17 technical fouls, to be exact, and he leads the league in technical fouls to be even more exact. However, Boogie was never the one who caused the Kings' such little improvement - if anyone's to blame, it's the Kings' front desk. Yes, Vlade Divac, I'M TALKING TO YOU.
Anyways, Cousins's career averages are 21.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists. Go look at the Kings' roster and tell me who else can compare to this man (the answer is no one).
This season, he is one of three players in the league who average at least 20 points and 10 rebounds per game. The other two? Triple-double machine Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis, who is now his teammate.
The Kings traded forwards Cousins and Omri Casspi to thePelicans on Sunday night, just hours after the NOLA All-Star game, in exchange for rookie guard Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway and 2017 first- and second-round picks.
I can only explain/describe this the way Stephen A. Smith, ESPN's First Take commentator, did:
“... A heist took place last night and the Sacramento Kings should be ashamed of themselves. I don’t give a damn that you don’t wanna pay DeMarcus Cousins [for] five years $209 million, you don’t let go one of the best big men in basketball.”
The entire NBA league is probably pooping their pants right now because now they have to go against the "Twin Towers."
Take that, take that, take that.
