Who am I?

Well, for starters, I am amazingly diverse and subjective. For instance, when used by some people, I elicit groans and eye-rolls, but when others take advantage of my power I can cause pleasant tears and good belly exercise. A lot of times, my effectiveness depends entirely upon the method through which humanity expresses me, and I don’t always get the credit I deserve because of a poor delivery.

That’s the subjective part. The diversity comes in when you ponder all of my many categories and the ways people can use me. I appeal to the ridiculous person and the most astute alike and both the sad and the happy can benefit from me. I am a good indicator of personality type and an important part of social interactions. When used correctly, I can ease many a first-date and make a killer first impression. People are uncomfortable with me when I suddenly appear at occasions that are supposed to be somber, and I am often inconvenient when directed at someone who has just taken a sip of a beverage.

Who am I?

I have an even more important role than this, however, one that (if you knew my name) might surprise you. Sometimes, I seem like a very shallow thing, but I can actually be a secret weapon (especially if I am my “sharp” or “acerbic” form. That was a pun, by the way). People underestimate my power, but I actually have quite an important function in their lives and they would be left off much worse without me.

Who am I?

I can ease many a tense moment. I am the thing people often fall back on in an awkward scenario that desperately needs a lift (I have, in fact, severely strained myself lifting tension off of situations before . . . you humans have hernias, and I believe I can relate). I can take over a circumstance instantly and overcome that archenemy of mine, stress. In fact, I often wish people would refuse to side with stress as much as they do and try me once in a while. I offer a completely different perspective if I can only be found.

That is, in fact, where much of my value lies: I can show people another side to a situation, and I can be a positive force to bring the joy that can always be found in nearly any scenario. Whether a person chooses me for the benefit of another to lighten a moment/express comradeship or whether someone benefits from the fact that I am being used, I can always either lighten a heavy load of the soul or increase the joy you are already feeling.

Who am I?

I am humor. Lol!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
