If you're like me and didn't want to shell out half your bank account to visit Ireland for St. Patrick's Day, then you're probably still looking for something festive to do. Have no fear, there's still plenty to do in London. Here are a few things at the top of my list.
The Parade
Follow the massive St. Patrick's Day parade from Picadilly to Trafalgar Square to start off your Sunday. This is certainly not for someone looking for a quieter weekend as the parade had around 125,000 guests last year. Get ready for some great music and performances along the way.
Festival in Trafalgar Square
Continue the fun March 18th and be sure to make your way to Trafalgar Square to see some amazing Irish performances. Be sure to make your way over to the market afterward for food, crafts stalls and family-friendly activities.
Free History Walks
If you aren't one for big crowds, a history walk might be more up your alley. Tony O'Donnell will be guiding free walking tours of Trafalgar Square, just be sure to RSVP before you go.
Mr. Foggs Event
Guinness Brunch
Not only does St. Patrick's Day fall on a Saturday this year, but it also falls on the final Six Nations game of England v. Ireland. Queen Adelaide has teamed up with Guinness to throw an awesome St. Patty's day brunch. Pair a Guinness with their traditional English brunch menu to start your morning off right
Pop Brixton Party
Pop Brixton is hosting an event for anyone looking to dance the night away. Put on your favorite green dress for a night filled with Guinness and Irish music.
Camden Market
Camden Market always turns green for London's St Patrick's Day Festival. The market will be bustling with live Irish music, arts and crafts and a screening of the last of the Six Nations game. Not to mention all the amazing food always available.
You better get on it, St. Patrick's Day is only a few short days away. Be sure to make all your bookings now so you can be sure to enjoy your weekend. Happy St. Patty's Day!
