Where Are You Going?

The question of a lifetime.

Where Are You Going?
m-r-x

Where are you going? This isn’t a question as if you’re going on vacation somewhere, or going to do relief work, or going anywhere.

While you may want to go to a place like New Zealand, this is a question of where you are going metaphysically, beyond the physical realm.

The nature of asking this question presents the difficulty of one having to know where they are, or that they are going somewhere.

The true nature of this question extends to the understanding of understanding. You have to realize who you are to be able to answer this question.

You can begin to realize what happens, this means you are aware of what happens, and you let it affect you.

When deadly shootings happen, when presidential candidates are flip-flops or an asshole, who will you be?

People always talk about America being free, and while soldiers, spies, economics, and much, much more protect our freedom, what use is freedom if we don’t exercise it?

Freedom isn’t “I want to wear red today.” That is not being free. Freedom is so much more.

Freedom is the ability to see beyond, to be free your individual existence, to understand the existence of the world.

While it is wise to listen to your friends, it is even better to listen to your enemies.

Almost all people do what they think is right in a certain context. This means that even if they think it is wrong, if they are controlled by someone who will take their life, they will listen to that person so that they stay alive.

But how did it come down to someone controlling someone else to the point where their lives are at stake?

All the people you hate, all the people who have committed atrocious acts, are still people. This does not dismiss the atrocities they have performed, but it means that there is a reason for them committing these atrocities.

Society is built to be hostile, because there’s only so many things, and we are brought up to want things. We get bored of things, and then we want new things. This presents a sort of problem, even in today’s modern dating world.

People always glorify and imagine these perfect relationships. They try with someone, it doesn’t really workout, they may misunderstand one another, while obviously this is not always the case, and it is a dangerous case.

Such is the case with schools that “Americanize” people’s names, such as Carlos as Carl.

This, unbeknownst to the perpetrator sends a message of your not worth understanding, I’m going to understand you as I want to understand you. With this type of thought, nothing will ever be understood.

Again with relationships, each person is an individual, and if you truly want to develop a relationship with someone, it must be your goal to understand one another.

A deep understanding is necessary for us all to move forward. An understanding that allows you to see how things truly are.

In the end this must be the ultimate goal, this must be where you go. So now you must choose, choose where you want to go, and go there.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
