There are always arguments over whether or not art majors or STEM majors are "better" or "more useful." No matter which side you take on that, if you're an arts major you can definitely agree that being around a bunch of STEM students can be hella awkward, and you may encounter one or more of these situations.

1. They'll be discussing their tough exams, and you can't remember the last time you had one.

You'll probably get a lot of side-eye from them at first for this one, but then you explain that instead of exams you write a lot of papers, or go through critiques.

2. They'll use a lot of words you won't understand...

All you remember from high school biology is that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell.

3. ...but there are plenty of words of yours that they won't get.

We all have our own little sets of vocabulary.

4. You may feel like you're less intelligent because you aren't a science student.

This isn't true! We're all good at different things, and you just chose to pursue a different math than them. Intelligence isn't measured by which major you chose.

5. You'll probably get asked what you want to do with your degree.

But then again, you get that from everyone.

6. They may think your degree is "easier" than theirs.

Again, intelligence is not measured by major. The workload may be a bit different, but not really able to be compared, considering you're comparing two totally different subjects.

7. You can definitely help each other out!

Stuck on a tough math problem? Talk to a math major. Need help editing your paper? Ask an English major. We all bring different things to the table.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
