Friendships make this world go round. Best friends give you moments that you’ll remember forever, confidence to try new things, and allow you to be the best version of yourself. Part of life is stepping outside of your comfort zone to meet new people and find these girls that will become your best friends. Since going to college I have definitely done that, but there is one person that has been my best friend from the very beginning, and that is my sister.

People often say that a sister is supposed to be your best friend, but I have seen situations where that is not the case. That’s why I feel so fortunate to be so close with my sister. I also feel like this stereotype can come when there’s a large gap in age. In my personal case, my sister and I are only one year apart. Since we’re so close in age we’ve been able to experience the same things together. I can’t imagine a life without her, honestly.

When your sister is your best friend, it’s like you’re a team. Whenever the parents are being a little too much to handle, your sister is always there to experience and share the pain. Tough situations become bearable because your sister is there for you. The two of your together are the perfect problem solving pair. There is no obstacle too steep to overcome when the two of you are together. Don't even get me started on games. When you're sister is your best friend she literally knows exactly what you're thinking at all times. She knows how you express yourself. This makes being charade partners the best possible combination.

When your sister is your best friend, it's like every day is a sleepover. You have the most fun and it's never a hassle being together all the time because you genuinely like each other. She is also the one person who can make you laugh the hardest. Since she knows you so well, she understands exactly what it takes to make you laugh. This trait always makes it fun to spend time together. So when you've had a bad day, your sister is always there to put a smile on your face and make everything a million times better.

When your sister is your best friend, you look up to her more than you think. I'm the older sister, I'm supposed to be the one that sets the example and be the leader, yet that's not the case. My sister may be younger but is so incredibly wise. She faces every situation with strength and courage, and it is so admirable. She has the biggest heart and cares so much about her loved ones. She's also super sassy and stands up for what she believes in. I am lucky to call her my sister and my best friend. I have no idea what I would do without her and I can't wait for more memories together.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
