When things get bad again after they've been good for so long, it's scary. However, these are the times we need to remember that we're alive. Not every day for the rest of your life is going to be beautiful. Sometimes you're dripping in honey one day and shrouded in darkness the next. No one knows why. That's just how depression works. So when things get bad again, you can't let yourself go off the deep end. You have to let yourself feel it no matter what, but don't feel it so much that you throw yourself to the sharks.
Feel it because it matters. Then pick yourself up. Crawl out of bed and brush the knots out of your hair. Take a warm shower and wash off the past few days. Brush your teeth and wash your face. Put on your favorite show and clean. Mop and vacuum, wipe down the counters, take out the trash, change your sheets and do a couple loads of laundry. Once your finished make some food, even if it's pizza rolls. Take your time eating and watch a few episodes of your show. Relax.
Getting over times when things are bad takes gentle care for yourself. Making your surroundings clean and keeping your hygiene in check are the first steps to getting over the dark days. Relaxing and watching a good show to take your mind off things helps distract you from the bad things. The last thing you should always do when things get worse after you've cared for yourself, call the people close to you.
The people who are closest to you will always love you and be there for you. Even if your brain is telling you that they don't, trust in your heart that they do. Things get bad for everyone sometimes, so I'm sure they have felt the same way you do right now. By talking to loved ones you can find help. And if you don't exactly know what you need help with, they will have a shoulder for you to cry on.
Sometimes things get bad again after they've been good for so long. Keep your head up and know you don't have to swim with the sharks.
