When People Are Stuck In The High School Phase

When you graduate from high school, whether you enter into college or not, you start to enter into the real world. You start to learn more about life and become wiser. You go through some amazing, life-changing experiences, as well as the tough learning experiences. Even if you are known to be a little immature and tend to act silly, you know that you develop more maturity as you are moving on through life. However, there are always those people who never seem to get out of their "high school phase."

These are the people who graduated high school, but never really left. They are the same as they were in high school and did not seem to grow at all beyond it. High school seems to be the greatest and only achievement in their life and seems to be the only thing they will talk about. It is easy to spot someone like this when they tend to try to create drama over every little thing. These people, otherwise referred to as two-faced, talk about their friends behind their backs just so they can feel good about themselves. It is something that happens constantly in high school but should never leave high school.

It just shows how self-absorbed people can be. They feel that the world revolves around them and that they have to prove they are better than the people around them. They can't seem to care about other people, unless it has something to do with them in any way. It is important not to be competitive but to appreciate the people around you. Be happy for those who do well and try to work hard to make your own achievements.

When you start college, it becomes easier to get out of this phase because you have the freedom to choose your own friends. You do not have to see the same people every day in your classes like it was in high school. You now have the freedom to keep the friendships that are meaningful to you and to let go of the people who were toxic in your life. It is also not a bad thing to leave some of your friendships in the past. As we are moving on into the world, we find ourselves going in many different directions.

It is not always easy to break out of this high school phase. A major aspect of this phase is needing social approval of yourself. You find yourself relying on the opinions of other people. It is important to learn that you need to live your own life. You need to focus on finding your own identity, and once you become comfortable with it, you feel a lot more comfortable in your skin and who you are as a person.

As you are constantly making your own experiences and learning about life, you develop a sense of your identity. You learn even more about yourself and discover who you really are. It is important that you learn from your past and your experiences in order to grow. You will never be able to fully learn and grow if you keep reliving your past and keep making the same mistakes.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots.
