When a love is real, no amount of time, and no distance, can keep two people apart. It’s something you realize with time, when it comes to your attention that you haven’t seen your first love in months, years, and you finally see them again.

Two things may happen: Either something inside of you breaks, or your heart soars in a way that you never thought you’d feel again. When a love is real, I can assure that you will feel the latter. You will feel like you returned home safely after being away for far too long, like things are finally as they always should have been.

You will feel at home.

And if you’re lucky, it’ll be like nothing changed at all.

When a love is real, you will always find your way back. You can try to get away, spend time trying to delete and erase and forget, but when a love is real, you will come back. It’s like a magnetic pull, drawing you in until the inevitable happens and you collide. This pull is not, and will never be, one-sided.

When a love is real, it’s not a process of falling back in love, because you never stopped loving. It’s a process of the small flame becoming a fire again, bright and beautiful. Really, should it have ever diminished?

When a love is real, it could be said that time apart should never be part of The Love Story. Sometimes, however, life gets in the way, and it pulls you apart. It’s your job to find your way back again. When you are presented with this challenge, take it on. It’s worth it.
