Getting hit with crappy situations can be tough. Take them in stride… with grace, confidence and total “badassery.” Just because life decided to not work out the way you planned doesn’t mean it is all going to hell. Who says tomorrow won’t be the best day of your life? You can’t afford to have swollen eyes and running mascara for that day… clean yourself up babe, a little lipstick goes a very long way.

Life is a narcissistic jerk who likes to play with your emotions by throwing curve balls at you that you may never understand (kinda like men, yeah?). But that is no excuse for women to fall to the immature levels of the situations thrown at them. We are species of class, and we should always keep that in mind no matter what we face in our lives.

My grandma always told me to never leave the house without looking presentable because you never know who you are going to meet that day -- who's to say you won’t meet the love of your life?

Who's to say you won’t meet someone who could potentially give you the job you always dreamed of? Who's to say you won’t meet Zac Efron that day? Hey, anything is possible. Always looking classy and put together will help you feel better about yourself. Look good… feel good, am I right?

No girl can deny they feel so much more confident when their outfit/makeup/hair is on point.

Why not feel like that every day?

Something I try to constantly remind myself is that it’s just a bad day, not a bad life. Yeah, your day might feel like nothing is going in your favor, but that doesn’t mean that your life is awful. We need to keep in mind that there are people in this world going through something much, much worse than anything we could imagine. Keep this in mind next time you decide to say “my life really sucks.” No, no it doesn’t… You’re #blessed. Always remember that.

And even if does feel like life sucks, that is no excuse to do things that take away from who you are. Don’t go out and be wild just because you’re mad or sad. Don’t go out and do something you will regret just because you want to get back at someone. Keep the class. Be an Audrey in a world full of Marilyns.

When life decides to hit you with something you think you can’t handle… prove it wrong. Put on some make-up, go to brunch (or just have a mimosa) and handle it. Have the confidence that you can deal with anything thrown at you. I know you can. Life isn’t that difficult… the sun rises and the sun sets, we just tend to complicate the time in between. Don’t let life get ahead of you, catch up to it and make it your bitch.

So when life hands you lemons, make a gin and tonic, or a lemonade… that works too, whatever is your drink of choice.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
