You start work in 15 minutes, but you can’t find the keys to your car. You can’t even find anything since you’re whole room already looks like a herd of buffalo stumbled through it; this is because you’e already spent the whole day looking for your glasses. 24 hours into getting them and you’ve already lost your brand new pair.
In this same day you forgot to submit an online assignment, you banged your shin three times on your coffee table in a matter of minutes, and answered the door to an extremely cute delivery boy only to realize later on that you had blackberries stuck in your teeth while you tried to flirt.
You end up getting a ride to work only to find your keys later that night...in the freezer, next to the mint chocolate chip ice-cream.
We’ve all had these days. Where fate just wants to watch you crash and fail, and each time you try to fight it, it only seems to get worse.
It’s on these days that life seems to be getting the best of us.
So what do we do when life hands us lemons ladies? We bring out the margarita mix.
This could be figuratively or even literally, whichever one is going to help you conquer this day.
1. Listen to your favorite song and sing along
Like I’ve always said and will continue to say, singing Queen B is life changing and will always help you face a bad day head on.
2. Take a shower or bubble bath
And wash away all the shit people have been giving you all day.
3. Make yourself a happy meal
Everything always seems worse when you’re hangry…I mean hungry. So treat yourself to something you’ll really enjoy.
4. Animal therapy
To the people who don’t have immediate access to animals, I’m sorry because this is by far the best thing you could do for yourself. Animals have this magical ability to make every bad thing happening to you seem less important. All you want to focus on is how cute and fluffy they are!
5. Watch a comedy
One with an independent, sassy female lead of course because you need to remember that girls run the world.
6. Meditate
Or take a 20-minute walk. This definitely isn’t the time to be taking a mad dash out to Starbucks in hopes that a caffeine rush will make it all better. Today is all about slow and steady.
7. Remind yourself that this is temporary
As cliché as it sounds, tomorrow is a new day. So don’t stress about the little things, or even the big things, because tomorrow they might not mean ANYthing.
