But really…walking to class and the one day you forget to check the weather, of course, it is going to rain. Not just rain, but pour. This seems to be the type of luck I have lately. I want it one way, but it always turns out the other. Not that it’s always a bad thing, although most of the time it seems like it.
Freshmen year of college can be tough. I’m only speaking from three weeks of experience, but boy let me tell you when one thing happens, there always seems to be multiple things to follow. From juggling classwork, homework, and the twenty pages you have to read by Wednesday, it can be overwhelming, especially when all you want to do is run away from it all.
Although, I have learned, that running from your problems won’t make them go away. It is so easy to put things off and not think about it all when you're stressed. This goes for both school and any other problems we may face. We run from our problems and don’t want to face them. It’s crazy to think that we never have to face them alone.
I once read a quote expressing,“He waits every day for every answer we need, every comfort we crave, every affection we’re desperate for, while we look everywhere else but at Him.” We keep trying to solve our problems alone. We keep trying to do life alone. And most importantly we keep trying to do it without God. But why?
We want to have control, but we have to realize that letting God have control and trusting in Him can benefit us more than we could ever believe. Let go and let God. Once we hand it over to Him his blessings will all begin to play out. They will begin to rain down on us. Not only rain but pour.
