I haven't done the research, but I'm sure there's a survey out there somewhere about how many people on average use alarm clocks. If you're like me, that alarm clock is on your handy dandy little smartphone. The reason I don't use a physical alarm clock is because I know that with my temper in the mornings I would throw it or Hulk smash it or something of the like, but I would never throw my phone. It keeps me in contact with the like five people in the universe I actually speak to on a regular basis. With that being said, I have found an alarm clock app that has completely upgraded my waking up experience: the Rock Clock.
If you know me personally at all, then you probably know about my obsession with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. It all started at a young age when my brother introduced me to the wonderful world of the WWE and "smelling what The Rock was cooking." When he started venturing into movies, I was more than supportive. I was ecstatic (and still am every single time he's in a new production). This fangirling of mine has carried over into his other projects as well, like the aforementioned Rock Clock.
I first discovered this ingenious app when I saw The Rock retweet something about it on Twitter (Yes, I follow him on all social media. Judge me.) Immediately I searched for it in the Apple store, discovered it was free, and downloaded it without a moment's hesitation. I am proud to say that this is one rash decision I have made in life that I have not regretted once.
The purpose behind this app is to help you set and achieve your goals, and if you follow The Rock on any social media at all then you know he is all about motivation and getting after your goals. This app provides a humorous and incredible platform to do just that. To set your alarm you have to create a goal (with or without an end date) and pick from 25 different ringtones (my personal favorite: The Rock singing "Good Morning Sunshine" because who doesn't want to hear that beautiful voice first thing in the morning?) You also have the option to wake up at the same time as The Rock, but that's always obnoxiously early so I don't suggest it.
I'm not saying this app magically turned me into a morning person, but if it doesn't brighten your morning just a little bit like it does mine then I don't think we can be friends.
P.S. It's available for iPhone AND Android!
