First off, there is a clear difference between "I don't want to" and "I can't." Some people don't want to go to work out and that's fine and well. Some people don't feel the need to, don't like it, or simply just don't care. Which, again, is perfectly acceptable. But the people who say "I can't work out" or "I can't lose weight" are excuse makers.
There is a HUGE difference between “I don’t want to” and “I can’t.”
I hear a lot of people talk about how they WANT to lose weight, they WANT to be healthy, but they don't want to go to the gym and they don't want to eat right. They only kind of want to lose weight. They don't want it more than they want to sleep in. They don't want it more than they want to eat junk food all the time. They don't want it more than they want to continue with their lifestyle. They just kind of want to lose weight.
As a human species, we are not built to be extremely overweight. Our bodies are not built to carry pounds upon pounds of excess fat on them. Changes will have to be made to lose weight, and it will be hard. Chances are you'll stumble and fall, I know I did when I was losing weight. But day in and day out I found myself in the gym because I wanted my heart to be healthy, I wanted to achieve a normal weight, and I wanted to feel good about myself. Two weeks ago, I broke my foot and tore a ligament. Even when I was confined to bed rest, I still did a 10 minute ab workout because 10 minutes is better than nothing.
Get off the pity party and accept responsibility. YOU are the reason you are where you are. Any weight loss program will tell you that.
You have convinced yourself that nothing will ever improve.
We are being raised in a generation of people who have every excuse in the book as to why they're not where they want to be. YOU are the reason you "can't" get in shape. You are the way you are because of who you are. Simple as that. It all boils down to how badly you want something. When you want it badly enough, you'll find a way to make t happen. No one is going to walk up to you and hand you what you want. If you want it, work for it.
We all have problems. We all have hurdles. We all have families, and class, and jobs, and obstacles. Some have it harder than others. It’s hard to have faith and commit to something when everything seems dark. It’s hard changing your life. But it is not impossible. This goes for anything in life.
Not just losing weight and getting into shape. Anything you want, you can achieve. It all boils down to how badly you want it. The difference between you and the person who is where you want to be is how hard you’re willing to work for something. It may not come instantly, it may take 3x longer than other people, but if you stick with whatever you put your mind to, one day will be your day.
