Halloween is a mystical time filled with "Hocus Pocus" marathons, candy and, of course, pumpkin everything. A point comes in October which some start dreading, some absolutely love and some are completely indifferent toward: pumpkin carving. It can be a tedious task filled with guts, frustration, and sometimes a little family competition. However, contrary to popular belief, your pumpkin can say a lot about you.
Classic Jack-O-Lantern
You’re pretty basic when it comes to most things, so when fall rolls around you’re usually layered with a flannel ordering a PSL and carving perfect triangles into your pumpkin. You do what needs to be done when it needs to be done and how it needs to be done.
What is it? Pumpkin
“I saw it on Pinterest, it was super cute I promise!” This is my personal favorite person. You have great intentions with everything you do; however, things just tend to get a little mixed up. You don’t let setbacks get you down, though, so when Halloween comes you proudly display it and join the others laughing because at least you tried.
Intricate Design Pumpkin
You pull a picture off of google or you flip through about 10 pumpkin carving books to find the perfect design. When it comes to things you like to be prepared and accomplish tasks you set for yourself. You’re competitive and you don’t take losing well. When the time comes to light the candle and to see your hard work, you make sure every little component is perfectly carved and then step back to bask in the praise of everyone.
The Painted Pumpkin
You’re a free spirit; you like to stand out from the crowd. They’ve been carving pumpkins for years, so why not ditch the knife and pick up a paintbrush?
I’m Over It Pumpkin
You start carving the pumpkin, you think you’re gonna finish it and then nothing. I mean you always rationalize your decisions before you carry them out, even if the rationales aren’t the best. Why carve a pumpkin when I can watch an episode of Stranger Things? That’s spirited, it’s a creepy show. Why do I have to carve a pumpkin, I can do so many other important things.
NO, I’m Not Carving
You’re not much for tradition. You would rather do countless things than feed into the Halloween hype. You’re more of a Christmas person anyway, so why waste your time on an orange ball that rots in three days tops.
