What Your Favorite Workout Says About You

2016: New year, new you. One of the most popular New Year's resolutions is to get fit and work out more. Gym memberships skyrocket as roughly 66 percent of Americans set fitness goals as part of their resolutions. Now, whether you are an exercise newbie or a seasoned exercise professional, here is what your favorite workouts say about you.

*Disclaimer: We are all beautiful and unique snowflakes so obviously these won't describe you perfectly. Only mostly perfectly.

1. CrossFit

CrossFit is the vegansim of the exercise world. If everyone you know doesn't know that you do it, then you're not doing it right (bonus points if you're a vegan who does CrossFit, nice!). You have a real terrifying obsession passion for health and fitness that is very admirable. You're a real go-getter and motivated to persevere and push yourself to your limits. You also really enjoy sweating and the debilitating pain in your muscles that comes from a good workout. You might be slightly masochistic.

2. Yoga

You must be, like, sooooo enlightened. Or you really love yoga pants enough to wear them for their intended purpose. You are gentle, yet fiery, and surprisingly sensual. You're very in touch with your mental or spiritual health and value culture and tradition. You strive for peaceful living and enjoy being in nature. You probably have a lotus tattoo somewhere on your body and your favorite animal is the Indian elephant.

3. Power Lifting

Get swoll! Lucky for you, you only need to know three exercises to really pack on that bulk: bench, squat, and clean. The Holy Trinity. You take real pride in your workouts and are good at setting and achieving goals. You are extremely committed, and only death will keep you away from the weights. You are the protector and mentor of the gym, all newbies look to you for guidance on posture and lifting etiquette. You have an insatiable thirst for Muscle Milk and your favorite food is protein supplements.

4. Zumba

Is Zumba even a thing anymore? You don't care, you wild and vivacious free spirit! In life, you dance to the beat of your own drum, but in class you dance to the beat of music pulled straight from the Travel Channel's island living specials. You are upbeat, energetic, and won't settle for the bland, bare minimum. You are outgoing and always say what's on your mind. Your friends wish they were as brave and shameless as you.

5. Running or Jogging

You are truly crazy if you choose to run or jog outside of dangerous, life threatening situations. You are dedicated and strong of will. Rain, snow, or shine, you are out pounding the pavement and making anyone who sees you feel really bad about themselves (and you secretly love it). Devoted, enthusiastic, and maybe a little insane, you're always willing to go the extra mile for a friend or for a cool down after a five-mile fun run. After basketball players, you are the athlete most obsessed with shoes.

6. Tai Chi

Congratulations, you've convinced yourself and others that moving and breathing slowly is really exercise. You value synergy in your life and relationships and are very open minded. You enjoy finding creative solutions to problems and can remain calm and collected in stressful situations. You are a lover, not a fighter, which is good because you can't really fight with Tai Chi. You read the Tao Te Ching once (Sparknotes) and you know everything about life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
