What You Do Once You Find Your Passion Is What Actually Matters

A few weeks ago I wrote an article about discovering what sets your soul on fire and going after it. But how exactly do you go after it, right?

I've been in that same boat. Honestly, I am still in that same boat because there is no right or wrong way to go after your passions. There is no one path that is the same; everyone's journey is going to be different.

Like I said in my article, Go after what sets your soul on fire. You can never settle for anything that doesn't make you crawl out of your skin to be closer to where you want to be.

Of course, it's easier said than done because a lot of us struggle with how exactly we can get closer to where we want to be.

A lot of us, including me, don't know exactly what we want to do. We may have an idea, an ideal career path, but we aren't exactly sure.

One of the biggest obstacles we will face is the challenge of getting to where we want to be. First things first, though; this notion must be thrown to the side. This isn't a challenge so stop looking at it as such. This is all a part of the journey.

While everyone's journey is different, they all require some of the same efforts. In my opinion, one of these efforts must be to be so confident in yourself and what you're doing.

Don't be afraid to put yourself out there. You have to be able to do whatever is necessary. Forget what people say or what people do, and focus on yourself.

That’s another thing: focus on yourself. This is a time when it is so important to focus and work on yourself and yourself only. This is the time where you can work on your own dreams or live in someone else’s. Choose to work on your own because that’s when everything happens.

I also recommend thinking outside of the box. This is when your creativity proves vital. By this I mean think of different ways to get where you want to be. You want to be a writer for TV shows? Skip the typical path and think of new, brilliant ways to get there.

This leads to my last recommendation; you must work at creating opportunities for yourself.

What I have learned to be especially important is reaching out to people in my desired career path. Not only is this a great way to get some advice but it is also most likely to be a great connection down the road.

You never know where reaching out to people will get you. It becomes a domino effect of meeting this person and working for this company, only to meet this next person and end up working at your dream job.

The choice is really up to you. So, don’t allow yourself to struggle with how to get where you want to be; instead, create the path for yourself. All of the greats have done it in their own unique way.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
