He stood several feet away
A shadow in the distance at first
Turning around, he stood in front of my desk
Wearing a freshly ironed business suit,
He carried a leather worn-out briefcase,
with scratch-marks on the side,
With his other hand he ran through his hazelnut tousled locks,
He adjusted the glasses he wore,
those glasses he wore added a sophistication to his appearance,
he didn't stand out among the rest of the gentlemen waiting
but something stuck out about him.
I asked him what was in the briefcase,
and he waved the question away
never actually answering it,
and it didn't bother me either
Because his piercing blue eyes with a hint of green were vibrant
Those eyes hypnotized me into not asking the question again,
Before he walked away into the other room, he shook my hand,
his hands were cold
and his smile made my stomach churn,
and then I knew, somehow,
that he wasn't human,
but what was he?
