This past week, I went to visit my friends in Charleston, South Carolina. I flew out of Laguardia Airport in New York City.
This was my first time traveling on a plane since Covid! Here are some things to keep in mind.
Smaller Crowds
I walked into my terminal and it was almost empty. I have never seen anything like it in an airport, especially in New York City! The airport is usually packed. The flight was a little more crowded, but again, not like usual.
LOTS of Masks
It was so odd to see everyone wearing masks in the airport. Flight attendants, pilots, and every passenger. There were signs everywhere reminding you to wear your mask! It is very important you follow this rule, or you won't be allowed on a flight.
Wipes, gloves, and hand sanitizer
You will see a lot of these items, whether it's before security, before boarding, in the bathrooms, or from fellow passengers. One thing I will say, though, is the airport was almost spotless. I saw a lot of people cleaning everything constantly. Good job Laguardia!
Things do not look normal. Do not expect that.
The airport will not look the same as before, I will guarantee that. Overall, though, I felt very safe traveling. If you plan to travel like me, be sure to bring those wipes, use that hand sanitizer, and wear your mask!
