What To Do On A Chill Night In (12/23)

Staying in can be better than going out sometimes...

Whenever I can I try to relax, which it implies staying in in the coziness of my apartment.

These are the things I enjoy doing to take the edge off. Pamper yourself, cause you deserve it!

1. Face mask. Nothing better than those slimy new masks with animals on them so you can pretend to be a tiger or the peel off ones that when you're done you stare at your black heads for several minutes on end - who hasn't done it? No shame

2. Private dance party with me, myself, and I. It's lit!

3. Lit up a candle or two to set the mood. I feel the need to specify sented candle, I actually don't really see the point of having unsented candles around the house - like, why if you can't smell them what's even the purpose? What do they have to offer? I've been really liking blueberry crumble cake by Rite Aid and stress relief by Bath and Body Works.

4. Pet my cat until it becomes very obvious that they don't like it anymore. Feel free to make them dance with you so they can hate you for the rest of the night

5. When the energy from the solo dance party wears out, watch a movie. I usually go for very funny commedies. I've recently seen Dirty Grandpa, which I highly recommend if you want to just laugh and see Zac Efron's chiseled body

6. Don't forget to snack - maybe the most important thing on the list, cause who doesn't love food?!

7. Get a blanket and pretend to be royalty for that dramatic exit (that's all in your head, but you're having fun so it's okay) or Lana Del Rey in one of her music videos. Envision the wind blowing through your hair and your robe/cape/blanket is flying in the breeze and you've never felt more beautiful - no, just me? Okay, I'be tried

8. Finally, I have a hot beverage of my choice - tea or hot cocoa - and go to bed

That was my list of things I tend to do on a chill night in. What about you?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
