What The Media Isn't Telling You About Coronavirus

It is pretty safe to say that right now, it is a very scary time in our world. Since December, when Covid-19 first appeared, people have been at the mercy of the virus and it is only getting worse.

With the virus spreading more and more each day, the uncertainty that everyone in the world is feeling right now is beyond frightening. No one knows what is going to happen. Nothing like this has EVER happened. There hasn't ever really been a time where EVERYONE, no matter where you are from, what your beliefs are, what you look like, is scared out of their mind of the unknown and doesn't know what to do.

Right now, we are all human beings and we are all just trying to survive this pandemic.

No one knows what to do or how to stop it. We are all, as a world, trying to work together as a world to combat the virus. And that is the "beauty" of it.

Now, I am not saying by any means that there is a "beauty" or "bright side" of this horrible virus. No matter what way you look at it, Covid-19 is horrible and so tragic. Every time you turn the news on, there is something more upsetting and frightening that is being presented about the virus. But what the news hasn't been talking about are the tremendous acts of generosity and love that people have been sharing as a result of this tragic pandemic.

On Saturday, the 14th, it was announced that all of the schools in the county I live in were going to be cancelled for at least a month. Many other areas in the U.S. have already done this, but in my area, there isn't, thankfully, that big of a threat yet so we are a little behind. As many have pointed out, with school closings, this leaves students who rely on meals from the school are left without them. What will they do?

Since the announcement, tons of restaurants and businesses (and I mean almost every single one in my hometown) have stepped forward to offer free meals to those in need. At first, it was mainly school-aged children, but now businesses are offering meals for families who are in need. These businesses are acknowledging the loss in revenue, but are doing the right thing and giving back.

Seeing how willing people are to give back is heartwarming and can give us hope that we will overcome this terrible virus. I am so proud of my community right now.

Also important to mention is the willingness to work together at this time. Usually in the news, all you ever hear about is how the Republicans and Democrats are disagreeing about something. While it is unfortunate that it took something so horrible for them to work together on, they are working together diligently to protect the American people worsen the spread of the virus.

Everyone is trying to do their best and do what they can to stop this terrible virus. Let's hope that we are able to soon.

Stay at home, wash your hands and avoid others!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
