I’m a meat eater and a milk drinker. I have never once considered meat as a poor source of nutrition, in fact, burgers were once my favorite food.
I absolutely love ice cream, milkshakes, gelato, chocolate milk-- pretty much anything with milk in it.
However, upon watching a documentary on Netflix called, “What The Health,” by a young man who was eager to expose the dairy and meat industry, I have had much trouble indulging in my favorite foods in the same fashion.
In fact, you really don’t know anything until you’ve seen this documentary.
I am going to highlight some pretty important points Kip Anderson discussed in this documentary that has ultimately changed how I go about my daily diet and has altered drastically how I support these industries that have ruined so many lives, if not killed them.
We all know meat is processed, pumped with steroids, hormones, etc. to make them fatter. But at these processing plants and etc., they really don’t care in what condition these animals are in before they process them.
Sick and even deceased chickens and swine are all housed with the other living animals, they defecate all over each other, and of course, the decomposing animals spread bacteria, thus infecting the lovely chicken and bacon we love to digest.
The most unnerving part of this documentary was what they do to the swine in North Carolina. I could spoil it, but I simply don’t think my telling you will do this heinous act any justice.
But enough about meat. How about dairy and eggs? What is so harmful about milk, milk based products and eggs that is so bad?
Well for one, the milk you assume is coming from your neighborhood cow is hardly milk at all. Its rather a deadly concoction of fat, cholesterol, dioxins, chemicals, and so many other dangerous ingredients that are fed to these cows, flowing through their blood streams.
Eggs are no better. A study shown from Western University in Canada has shown a regular diet of eggs is the equivalent of smoking a pack of cigarettes, because it builds plaques around the arteries.
This ultimately brings me to my most startling point after watching this documentary:
It is uncommon to have a relative or a person dear to you afflicted with diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, or cancer. It’s an unwelcome norm in our society, and often not takes our loved ones away from us too soon.
Doctor’s tell them to change their diet, to eat less of what they’re eating and they’re health condition will deplete. Considering their conditions, it is safe to assume they ate an alarming amount of “unhealthy” foods already.
So, why would a doctor instruct them to only eat less of these harmful foods?
Foods recommended by the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, and Susan G. Komen (the leader in breast cancer research), that have seemingly killed people’s normal way of living?
Well, research done by Anderson has concluded all of these associations, whose mission was to help individuals, ailed with these health conditions, are actually sponsored by the same meat and dairy industries, including fast food restaurants that cause these conditions.
No wonder they only want to improve their standard of living, instead of changing it drastically.
Like, oh I don’t know, offering to adapt to a plant based diet?
Its unsettling and angers me that If I would have known the information I knew now about these fraudulent industries, I could have possibly saved so many of my family members.
Yeah I said it, veganism.
I would have never given it a second thought two weeks ago, but its health benefits are striking and have proven to reverse depleting health conditions, even terminal illnesses.
If you want to know more information, I would suggest watching this documentary. But as I stated before, me simply explaining this information has done Kip Anderson no justice in regards to the plentiful facts that he provides.
I do warn, however, be prepared to not want to eat for a couple of days.
