How To Face The Real World As An Impending College Graduate

You know, some of us who are in our last year of college forget that after we graduate we have to find a real-world job. Or at least I forget about it a lot. With graduation coming around the corner, I have been noticing little details of my life that have changed because there is that little voice that says, "The real world is coming, so get ready for it." I am sure that some of you can relate to some of these little details or the voice in the back of your mind.

Well, now it's officially that time of the year where we start freaking out because we're almost done with college. I know I've been freaking out. You've been living on your own, living off of financial aid, but now it's coming to an end. What happens now?

We're all at the state of mind where if you weren't before, you're freaking out because you need your grades to be the best they can. It also because we're almost finished with our majors. It's crazy how we have gone from being freshmen taking GURs to seniors taking 400-level classes. We bust our butts even more to make the GPA and the grades we need to graduate.

We're constantly hearing our parents tell us that we need to start looking for jobs that give us medical benefits. Trust me, I'm living this and I have been looking at jobs. It's at that point where we need that sense of being prepared for the future after graduation.

I'm already looking at jobs within the education industry, and then I am also looking at apartments and such that are near those jobs. I realized that what I want to do is something that isn't really available in my small town of Bellingham, Washington, and that I would have to relocate for the job I want.

I've really realized that we can't live as kids anymore. We have to take control of our lives and keep ourselves financially stable by finding a job, but a job that we love doing every day. We've also realized that if we want to keep doing the hobbies we love, we need a job that can support it to the fullest.

In the end, adulting is hard because we want to be 5 again and just worry about what color crayon we need to use next in our coloring book. The real world is scary because we know we have to grow up and face the music and become more independent.

But don't fret, take it one step at a time and you will be alright. Just prepare yourself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
