While growing older and going through life, I realized that love keeps the world spinning. Times get tough, but love keeps the difficult times bearable. Love does not just include romantic relationships. Truly, we show each other love every day of our lives. Mothers, fathers, siblings, friends, coworkers, teachers, pets, and strangers care and love so many people, but sometimes we do not notice the hidden love.
Love to me is when someone creates a spark or passion in another person. They give them a desire and will to live their life to the fullest, rather than mere exist. They pass on their love which motivates them to give their best efforts to the world. The lover cultivates the beloved’s mind with new thoughts, books, music, and feelings. Sometimes we measure love in the amount of attention, gifts, or dates that occur during the relationship. But I think that is a terrible measure of love because love cannot be measured. The heart and soul feel love and then display these pure feelings to the world. How the beloved treats others and the world is a great measure of the lover because love should create a kind heart and soul in the beloved.
Love is the care that one gives another during a tough time. Love is the feeling of pure joy by just being in the presence of the person you care for. Love is the “Did you get home safe?” text and the “Good luck on your exam” text. Love is the small compliment you give your classmate when they look pretty/handsome or say something intelligent in class. Love is the smile you give a stranger when walking past them. And finally, love is the solitude we all experience because the love we give ourselves motivates us to give the same love (or greater) to others.
If anyone feels lonely or not loved, just know that you can find love anywhere. Love is within us and once you find it, go and spread it to everyone you meet. If you think you are not loved, love the world even harder. What you give will eventually find its way back to you, so why not give the best and most pure love you can give?
