Alison:

Alison Lauren DiLaurentis taught me that it is never too late to reinvent yourself; just because you were a bad person yesterday, does not mean that you have to be the same person today.

Family does not always mean the people in which you are blood-related to. Your true family is made up of those who are always there for you, no matter what.

Sometimes, getting bangs is not the best choice. (Most times)

You also might not know what is good for you, until it is too late. If you are lucky, you’ll still get your chance at happiness. Even if this means going through hell, and several burials, before you get there.

Aria:

Aria Marie Montgomery taught me to never give up on love. True love will always find its way back to you. You may go your separate ways, but if they are the one, they will come back.

Being small does not make you weak. Five-foot-two-with-attitude, as they say nowadays. As Spencer Hastings once said to her, “You’re little, but you’re big.”.

Sometimes, you might take the wrong path, but you can always find a way out. Life is not a perfect game, in which every move you make is correct. You may go down a dark path, or mesh with the wrong people. However, there is always a way out. (Even if you helped A.D. once, that doesn’t make you a bad person *shrugs*).

Emily:

Emily Catherine Fields taught me to always be myself. Never let society, friends, or even family tell you who you have to be. Your race, gender, and sexuality are what make you you, and should not be something that you’re ashamed of.

True friends will be there for you no matter what. If your friends cannot accept who you are, and what you want to be, then they are not your friends.

Never be afraid to fall completely in love. Being vulnerable is not equivalent to being weak.

Happy endings do exist, but you have to work hard for them.

Hanna:

Hanna Olivia Marin taught me that confidence has to come from within. One has to love themselves before others will truly love them.

It is totally okay to follow the trends of society if that is your choice. Diversity is key, but when it comes to fashion, sticking to the trends might be the way to go.

Not knowing what you want is a natural part of human nature. Not being able to decide is fine. Needing an outside push to help make a decision or gain some clarity is just life. Sometimes not knowing is even better. Sometimes it is more fun.

Spencer:

Spencer Jill Hastings taught me to always be smart, brave, and resilient. It is not ugly to be smart. One should be proud of their intelligence, and should always strive to be better.

Your family life may be super complicated (you know, half siblings, half cousins, a secret twin, your mom actually not being your mom), but if you keep the ones you love close, you will get through it all. Love transcends past family, and into whoever you give it to.

Speaking of family, it is never too late to make amends with them. You can always reach out to them and offer a hand. Offer a voice. Offer a heart. They should always be there for you.

These girls taught me the true definition of friendship. They have been my role models of friendship since I started watching the show, as a little 13-year-old boy who had no idea who he was, or was going to be. Ultimately, "Pretty Little Liars" shaped me into who I am today. It has influenced my friendships, inspired me to write, and has even become a part of my lifestyle. For this, I personally thank "Pretty Little Liars" for everything that it has taught me. I will miss you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
