Growing up as an only child had its pros and cons.
I'm incredibly close with my parents because of it, but I also struggled with feeling lonely. When I started college, I knew that I wanted to go through sorority recruitment because it was a good way to meet people, but also because it would bring me sisters I never had. I went through a week of recruitment, joined a sorority, and was instantly greeted with over 200 smiling faces who soon became my family. At the University of Georgia, sophomores have the opportunity to live in their sorority house.
Currently, I'm lucky enough to be living with 49 other sisters at 397 South Milledge Ave and it's been an experience, to say the least. Two washing machines between 50 girls never goes over well, but nothing can beat walking up the brick walkway to the big white mansion I'm lucky to call home. There is never a dull moment, between kinda unhealthy but oh-so-good meals in the dining room to late nights in the hallway.
This has been a year I'll never forget, a year that every girl should experience if they have the chance.
