Have you ever gone out to dinner with your friends and they order an alcoholic drink?
Or watched your friends hang out in bars, beer tents, and not be marked with an "X' on their hands?
I'm sure most everyone has, but what happens when all your friends are older than you?
You kinda feel like you may as well walk around with a sippy cup in your hand.
Yep, this is the story of my life. All of my friends are 21 or older, and I'm the baby who just turned 18, and my boyfriend just turned 20.
And to say the least, being the baby of the friend group sucks.
But, it's not as bad as you would think.
I have FOMO like no other so it took me a while to get used to all my friends going out and having fun without me, but I've finally learned that I don't really miss out on much when they're all out at the bar.
My group of friends is by far the most fun group of people to be around, so we have our fair share of stories. And they get told over and over, all the time. So even if you're not there, you know exactly what happened and when.
I mean, yeah, it gets a little boring always hearing stories and not just being there.
But, being the baby of the friend group is pretty awesome.
Since all my friends are a little older than me, they've experienced a little more than I have. If I'm ever struggling with anything at all they always have the best advice to offer.
Having older friends is like having a bunch of older siblings. They tease you like you're their baby sister, but they are the most protective people you will ever meet.
While it's hard to watch all your friends have a good time without you, it's pretty cool to have older friends, and I wouldn't trade any of them for the world.
