1. Wow, I've missed my bed.

You never realize how comfy your bed is at home until you sleep on a dorm bed, and even with a couple mattress pads, nothing is better than your own bed at home.

2. I don't have to eat ramen for dinner for a good month.

Even though you eat out over break, there's NOTHING better than a homemade meal, especially Christmas dinner.

3. I'm so happy I don't have to set an alarm.

Unless I'm setting an alarm to go get a gourmet breakfast, I will not wake up until 11 in the morning. #Iaintsorry

4. Hoping your family doesn't ask about your eating habits at school.

Honestly people, I balance class, friends, extracurriculars, paying bills, commuting, homework, studying, AND work, I cannot be making a gourmet chicken and salad, I want macaroni and cheese and pizza and maybe mozzarella sticks.

5. I'm still going to binge watch Netflix, now it's just a little more acceptable.

But, let's be real, I've probably done that the whole semester before I came home. I just don't feel as bad watching Shameless and eating chocolate at 3AM because I'm in the comfort of my own home.

6. Do NOT wake me up before nine in the morning.

Really, just don't.

7. Now that I'm up, I don't want to do chores.

Must I sweep, mop, dust, clean the bathroom, AND still have enough time for a 11 episodes of 'Grey's Anatomy'?

8. I'm going to eat so healthy and work out every day when I'm back at school, New Year's resolution am I right??

LOL, that's probably not going to happen though, especially coming home from the bar and you want dominos or Wings Over Storrs, but here's hoping.

9. Being home can be stressful, but damn I love my family.

You can't live with them, can't live without them. I wouldn't trade my family for the world.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
