The Myers Briggs Personality inventory can tell a lot about a person. This test is a very useful tool and is sometimes used in a job interview process. To take the test follow this link.http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp According to the Myers Briggs Personality test out of the 16 personality types I am an ESFJ. This stands for Extrovert Sensing Feeling Judging. To help guide what each letter means look below. Often times people misunderstand an ESFJ's personality and here are 9 things that we want you to know
Extrovert- Introvert
Extroverts get their energy from other people while introverts get energy within themselves
Sensing vs Intuitive
Sensors tend to go with proven methods while intuitive people find new ways
Feeling vs Thinking
Feelers tend to think with their hearts and are usually empathic. Thinkers tend to make decisions using logic and are usually more analytical.
Judging vs Perceivers
Judgers tend to like routine and use the work first then play motto while perceivers tend to be more spontaneous.
1. We are not as extroverted as you may think
Extroverts get their energy from being around people but that doesn't mean we want to be with people all of the time. For example, when I do my homework/write papers I need to be alone so I can focus and not get distracted by other people around me. We also realize that other people's opinions are important so it is easy for us to listen.

2. Just because we talk to a lot of people does not mean we are equally close to everyone.
While I do talk to a lot of people that does not mean that I tell everyone everything.
3. We HATE gossip and Fake People
We love our friends and people in general, but we will NEVER stab anyone in the back. Never try to take advantage of an ESFJ because we will see right through you.

4. Sometimes we let our emotions get in the way of our decisions.
As a feeler, I tend to think with my heart and not my head. When something is bothering us we cannot concentrate. We want to make everyone happy. This is why we all need a thinking friend to give us practical advice, an introvert to teach us how to take in our surroundings, intuitive people to make us more open and perceivers to get us to lighten up.

5. One of the hardest things for us to do is say NO
As feelers and sensors we absolutely hate conflict, and as extroverts we enjoy being around people. However, as judgers when we have a routine or a plan we like to stick with it. We are aware of other people's needs and want to make them happy
6. If we are writing a paper don't expect us to leave our room until it is done
Even if it is a Saturday night and you invite us out we will stay in and finish our paper. Sensors and judgers like to follow through with the task at hand. We take deadlines and rules extremely seriously and like to have schedules.

7. We need friends who have different personalities
As a judger I have always believed in the work first then play. When I make plans with people I tend to stick with them. I recently found out my best friend is an ENFP and she has taught me to be more open and is more spontaneous.

8. We always follow rules because we know there are reasons for them
Without rules our society would be a mess. I was always the person who followed all the rules in school and got mad when people got away with it.

9. If we ask you what is wrong, we genuinely want to know and help
As extroverts and feelers we feel satisfied when we are helping people. When I ask you what is bugging you, it's not because I am trying to be nosy, it's because I genuinely care about you.
