Well as many of you may or may not know, saltwater fishing isn't easy. Fishing anywhere isn't always easy but the ocean lets you cheat and I'm going to let you know how to take advantage of it. First you're going to need a fishing rod, a big spinner should do. Make sure to put some strong braided line on it as well. Don't forget some wire leader as well because sharks tend to bite through everything else. For bait, use squid or any kind of fish and attack it to your leader with a big hook. So here some the hardest part, first you have to figure out where to cast and second, you have to be patient. If you have a boat you can drop your line in any deep water and if you're on a beach you can just throw it out there. Shark fishing is my favorite fishing, its easy and the fight is amazing. I've done it from shore, from boats and it is by far the easiest and most satisfying fishing I've ever done.
I went fishing a few days ago and I told myself I wouldn't just go shark fishing, that I'd try and get some king mackerel and wow was that a mistake. First of all I had to attach mono leaders to my braided line and let me tell you, that's not fun. After I finished off setting up the rods and getting some live bait for the trip I had to attempt bump trolling in the middle of a shipping lane. My boat isn't very big and transport ships are huge and move a lot of water. So not only was I constantly rocking from the normal movements of the ocean, I was dodging the wake from these boats. It led to a lot of pricked fingers and a lot of stress but that wasn't the worst part. The worst part was I didn't catch anything more than my bait. I didn't even get a bite!
So now I think I'll just stick to shark fishing because that's the way to go and it never leads to a disappointing trip.
